Goals sit above boards. Each one has an owner, a due date and a progress bar. Type the percentage yourself, or point the goal at the boards that deliver it and let the shipped items do the counting.
Manual or measured
A manual goal is a number you update when you know more: a launch that is 60 percent ready, a contract that is signed or not. Good for anything that does not live on a board.
A measured goal reads items. Choose every board or a few, optionally narrow to statuses, priorities or people, and progress becomes shipped items divided by matching items. Finish an item on the board and the goal moves.

What goes on the goals page
A workspace has one goals page. Keep it short: the handful of things this quarter is for, ordered by hand, with what is done or dropped moved out of the way.
Ship the new onboarding, close five enterprise deals, clear the support backlog. One goal each, one owner each.
A goal per client measured from that client's board, so the account lead sees delivery in one number.
A measured goal across the bug tracker filtered to High priority: how much of the hard stuff is done.
Questions
Are goals on the Free plan?
Yes.
How is progress calculated?
For a measured goal, shipped items divided by all items that match the goal's boards and filters, counting live top-level items only. Subitems and archived or trashed items are not counted. When a status filter is set, shipped items still count so the goal can reach 100 percent.
Can a goal have key results or sub-goals?
Not today. A goal is one line with one progress value. Use several goals, or a measured goal per board, where you would have used key results.
Who can edit goals?
Workspace owners, admins and members. Guests can read goals but not change them. Private boards a person cannot open are left out of the progress numbers they see.
Do goals send notifications?
No. Goals are a page you look at, not a source of alerts. The daily digest and board notifications cover the items underneath.
