Plan a sprint, estimate the items, see who is over capacity before the week starts.
Three small tools that read the same items: an estimate on every item, sprints with a burndown, and a workload grid of people by week. No separate planning app.
Estimates that read like you would say them
Type "2h", "90m", "1.5d", "1h 30m" or "2:30" into an item's estimate and TallyWeek stores it in minutes. A day is 8 hours. Estimates show as a badge on rows and cards and add up in sprints and workload.
Estimates are optional. Sprints and workload count items when nothing has an estimate, and switch to hours as soon as something does.
- Hours, minutes, days or h:mm
- 8-hour working day
- Badge on rows and cards
- Summed per sprint and per week
- Set from the item drawer
Sprints: planned, active, closed
A sprint has a name, an optional goal, a start and an end date, and a scope: one board, or workspace-wide so items from any board can join it. Put an item in a sprint from its drawer; filter a board to one sprint with the Sprint filter.
One sprint runs at a time per scope. Start the next and TallyWeek asks you to close the current one first, moving unfinished items to the next planned sprint or back to the backlog. Progress is shown by items and, when estimates exist, by hours, with a burndown of open items per day.
A board sprint only takes that board's items. A workspace-wide sprint appears in every board's sprint picker.
Open items per day for the active sprint, against a straight line from start to end.
Closing a sprint moves what is left to the sprint you choose, so nothing is lost between iterations.
Workload: people by week, 8 weeks at a time
The workload page is a grid of every member against the coming weeks. Each cell holds the items due that week for that person, as a count or as summed hours, coloured against their capacity. Capacity comes from each person's working hours in their profile, 40 hours a week when none are set.
Click a cell to see the items behind it and change their due dates to move them to another week. Overdue and undated items get their own columns so they cannot hide.
- Count items or Sum hours
- Capacity from working hours
- Hide done items
- Filter by board
- Reschedule from the cell
Questions
Are sprints and workload on the Free plan?
Yes. Estimates, sprints and the workload page are on every plan.
Do I have to use sprints to use estimates?
No. Estimates are a field on the item. Workload uses them without any sprint, and boards show them as a badge.
Can I run two sprints at once?
One active sprint per scope: one per board, plus one workspace-wide. Starting another asks you to close the running one and move its unfinished items.
Where does capacity come from?
From the working hours each person sets in their profile: the sum of the hours on the days they mark as working. When nothing is set, 40 hours a week is assumed.
Is there time tracking against estimates?
There is a Time tracking column for logging time on items, but no report comparing logged time with estimates today.
Does the burndown count hours?
The burndown counts open items per day. Sprint progress shows both items and hours; the chart is items only.
